Truely old cars
Those of you who know me understand that I have an above average interest in history. It is one of the reasons I love old cars but also translates into my other job; appraising jewellery and watches. Old things tell so much about us people. They hold stories that, if we listen to them, can teach us how not to make the same mistakes...
So I came across this article on a dutch history website about the first car. No it is not the Mercedes driven by Bertha Benz, it is more than a century before that! The drawings of it reminded me of the Phänomobil, a three wheeler car that impressed me when I first saw it in the Louwman museum. I made it in silver 😉
All this lead me into a rabbit hole, reading up on the first electric cars (again more then 100 years ago), to the french Teuf-Teuf club of pre-war cars, to the antique lithographs with weird stories attached to them that I have framed in my workshop.
Lets say I have enough things to write about in future blogs, I'll try to keep you updated on!
